Back from my whirlwind trip with 90% of wedding decorations, 50% of vendors figured out, and a wedding dress! Also…I ate A LOT this weekend with my family and going to all the fancy restaurant. And guess what’s coming in the mail today? My bikini’s. Guess who needs to hit the gym? This kid.

Want to see some of the things I ate this weekend? Totally tasty, not so good for the waist line. šŸ˜¦ Did exercise one day with my sis, and then we did do A LOT of walking. So I think we still were pretty active.

Homemade pizzelle from my sister!

Veggie sandwhich with Sugar Free Soy Coconut Latte.

California Burritos from Jalapeno’s!

Mac and Cheese dinner with pretzel from airport, for dinner last night.

Today started off with a cup o’ coffee with coconut creamer and a Peanut Butter Chocolate Zone bar. Not my first nutricious choice, but I forgot I had a meeting from 7:15 am to 8:15 am, so I scarfed it down! I am not on my second cup of coffee and I just realized it some how became 10 am. So I am hungry again.Ā I need to start eating well again, this weekend – I ate out so much and I did not hold back! I think I may have gained about 3 pounds. So let’s get this thing going. I am now having a second cup of coffee with vanilla and caramel machiatto creamer, plus drinking water (gotta stay hydrated), and about a 1/2 cup of apple sauce. Mmm! So tonight is going to be tricky – got a late flight in last night and early morning at work (doing for ten-hour shifts again). Tonight I wanted to exercise, but on 5 to 6 hours of sleepĀ – my body needs rest and I think we might do a frozen pizza for dinner.

Speaking of water – I do not drink enough of it. I am going to log my water throughout the day to reach a goal. Ā
+ 10:00am: 4 oz (out of my goal, 64oz)

A long day ahead of me.

I made my fiancee’s favorite burrito recipe – I really suck at taking pictures (even with my phone) – I had high hopes a took the picture below to start. Then I got a phone call from my mom and it was downhill from there. I have aĀ Ā digital camera, so I guess I could break that out. I’ve been using my phone camera to track my food. So far…not so good. Missed dinner pictures last night (I was famished after my quick workout! – it wasn’t great, but it was something), and breakfast again this moring. So I need to getĀ in the habit of that to track my food. So this picture is the start of the burritosĀ – onions cooking away. I’ll have to leave the rest to your imagination. I ate one burrito (about 7 months ago, I would’ve had two). For breakfast this morning, had the same overnight oats as yesterday (which chocolate chips and peanut butter) – with my coconut coffee! I am drinking water too, I feel super dehydrated.

Work is stressful. I work with a not so happy coworker (How to deal with a crabby coworker). Packing tonight – flight early tomorrow morning!! I must be at the airport at 5:10am. My sweetie is dropping me off uber-early! Trying on the jeans my friend gave me tonight, hoping to be able to do a fashion show and pack some of these cute jeans up! Wedding dress shoping – t-minus two days AAH! šŸ™‚ Last ten hour day…lots of meetings but off on an adventure tomorrow. Need to get back into a great exercise routine I had. Ten hour work weeks and trips out of state for Wedding Dress shopping are not condusive to that!

Just when you think everything is “slowing down” or becoming easier. Beware! My fiancee’s dad always said that “bad things come in threes”. So let’s begin:

1) Small problem: kind of a bummer. My purple coffee mug, brand new from my mom for Christmas, the slidey part broke off last night while washing. My handyman fiancee fixed it for me with some superglue and it’s good as new as new (he just told me to be gentle with it).

2) Medium problem:Ā at 5:50 this morning – right before my alarm went off, the “chirping” of the smoke alarm. In my sleepy stupor, I tried to replace the battery and handle that wonderful “beeping sound”.

3) Large problem: IĀ did laundry last night, and I checked the dryer this morning – my clothes were surprisingly still damp.Ā The heat doesn’t seem to be working in it – it tumblesĀ – but it’s obviously not happy and at 6am this morning I couldn’t do much about it. My fiancee will look at it later…but ugh! šŸ˜¦

For breakfast, I had overnight oats (withĀ organic Vanilla Soy Milk)Ā thenĀ this morning I addedĀ a big scoop of organic peanut butter and a palmful of chocolate chip. I think I made too much of it, but I ate it anyways. It surprising tasted a lot like chocolate chip cookie dough (which of course, is always good). Not like the peanut butter chocolate cup I was thinking it would be like. I am also enjoying my morning cup ‘o coffee with coconut creamer and soy milk. Mmm! šŸ˜€

Exercising tonight. I am doing it. No matter what. I was on a roll building some strength and muscle back – and now I am feeling doughy again. I never though being so busy would make exercising so hard. Since I work 40 hour weeks, I usually work from 7:30 to 3:30ish, and fitting in a work on those days is easy compared to this week! Heading out of state for wedding dress shopping in 2 days. Sometimes, even with all this motivation, when you’re exhausted, it’s hard to get moving.

Off to a shakey start! šŸ˜›

For my day, I have started with overnight oats with vanilla soy milk and a medium sizedĀ scoop of peanutella!Ā  I then followed up in my morning with a second cup of coffee (with Butter Pecan Creamer) and a handful of butter snap pretzels. Obviously, my downfall is coffee creamer! I love this stuff. My parentsĀ know theirĀ coffee, and when I was old enough, I inheirted that taste forĀ good coffee and good flavors.Ā There’s just something about coffee creamer that I love! But I don’t think it’s so great for the waste line. Ā I have been trying to not put as much in (besides the fact that it can be overly sweet) and I have been “watering” down my coffee with Vanilla Soy Milk – which not only adds a punch of protein, but it slightly better for me and lower in calories. So far, the switch has been good. But nothing beats some coconut flavor and a splash of half ‘n’ half! šŸ˜›

Ding ding ding! Round two. I am back at work for my second 10-hour day. Plugging away and chatting to insurance companies. Which begs the question? When you don’t necessary have fun or enjoy your job – how do you deal with that? Part of my goal at the Content Life is trying find out what I can do when I am not necessarily…content. Sometimes the work isn’t so fun and coworkers aren’t so friendly (sometimes I am surrounded by pure negativity), and the time crunch is upon you – how do I find the strength to not throw my hands up in the air and give up? šŸ˜¦ Sometime I am amazed that I don’t. But when it comes down to the nitty gritty, here’s how I view it.

1) I am so lucky to have a job. With unemployment rates sky rocketing and just graduating college – I feel so blessed to have found a job so quick in an area that I wanted to find one. While it may not be the “dream job” I always wanted –Ā it pays the bills and keeps me busy. It provides a level of comfort and security in a rather uncertain time.
2) I have met a great friend at work – a person I normally probably would have never met considering!
3) I have learned so many new things that will help me in the long run and have added to my experience and resume.
4) Life experience! I’ve moved and started a new chapter of my life – I’m engaged and preparing for the future with my future hubby-to-be!
5) It’s all part of finding the content life – I am finding what makes me happy and what doesn’t. I am learning how to balance things and take care of what I need. And having the blog let me reach out and find what makes me happy, and I also use it as a creative outlet.

All in all, life is as good as you make it! šŸ˜€
